GENERAL PEP INFORMATION
Objective:
The objective of PEP is that each child be allowed to mature at an individual rate in a nurturing environment. We work on enhancing their self-esteem to develop a positive self-image. A child's first year of school is their most important. The attitude a child develops will stay with them throughout their lifetime.
Attendence:
All PEP students are required to be signed in/out each day. There will be a sign in/out form on the top of the cubbies on a clip board in your child’s classroom. If an adult other then the parent is picking up your child, have the adult sign their name. Again make sure you write a note if a person other than who is on the emergency card is picking up your child. Please call (310) 546-8022 to report an absence. We must also have a note of explanation each time your child is out of school. Please include the student’s name, reason for the absence, the date of the absence and your signature in the note! The office needs to have accurate information regarding absences.
*For safety reasons no student will be released from class to go to another students home or with any adult other than the designated parent/guardian without a written note.
Snack:
Please send a snack. Students need to eat to refuel their bodies for learning. Please stay away from sending candy to school as a snack. (Do not send a full lunch please, try to eat before coming to school, other wise students have no time to play.)
Homework:
Pep students do not have nightly homework assignments. Occasionally I will send home a project that can be done with your child.
Birthdays:
Due to district policy we are unable to have treats for student birthdays! In PEP we celebrate in a special way, "treating" the class to a BIRTHDAY BOOK rather than a sugary treat.
