PEP is…
…a framework for learning
…the nurturing of a child
…discovering
…experiencing
…learning
…thinking
…problem solving
…growing
The primary goal of the Pre-Elementary Program (PEP) is to develop a positive self-concept in a language-rich environment. Children form attitudes about learning during the first year of school that remain with them throughout their lives. In PEP, children are allowed to mature at their own individual rate as they learn the skills that they need to be successful in school. PEP, which is considered the first of two years of kindergarten, provides for language development, social skills and activities that foster critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. In PEP, children learn in small and large groups as well as individually.
