Note from the Superintendent:
One of the points I often make when I speak in public is that the MCHS Model UN class/team is the epitome of 21st century education. Let's review the components of 21st century education.
- Collaboration - The students rely on collaboration within the class and with other schools for success.
- Critical Thinking - It's all about applying facts and data to different situations, synthesizing and analyzing that informaiton. It's critical thinking at a very high level.
- Creativity - You have to be creative when you are assigned to speak as South Korea or Iran about issues of peace and collaboration!
- Communication - You have to learn how to write and speak clearly and effectively.
21st century teaching and learning is what business are looking for in our graduates. Model UN is a perfect way of teaching those skills.
