Welcome to the Health and Welfare Benefits page. This page provides information about the Health and Welfare benefits offered to employees. The benefit plan year is from October 1 - September 30 of each year with the month of August being open enrollment.

Open enrollment for the 2017-2018 School Year will begin on August 15, 2017.  However, if you have a qualifying event (e.g., marriage, birth of child, etc.), you can login at the Easecentral portal to update your coverage at any time.

The rates reflect a 10.98% increase across all of our Anthem insurance products. Kaiser has a 4.44% decrease. Delta Dental has a 5% decrease; VSP rates will remain the same. If you have any questions please contact DeShanta Garcia at

Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) Options:
If you selected any of the Anthem BlueCross plans, we encourage you to go to anthem's website, and register. You can register using either the ID number from your insurance card, or your social security number.

District-provided Benefits

The district pays for long term disability insurance and life insurance coverage for all employees that work at least fifty percent at no cost to employees. An overview of these benefits can be found here.  Please note that employees must designate a beneficiary through the portal.


COBRA is the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act which amended the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Internal Revenue Code and the Public Health Service Act to provide continuation of group health coverage that otherwise might be terminated. COBRA provides certain former employees, retirees, spouses, former spouses, and dependent children the right to temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates.
