MBUSD has shared the letter below with our legislators, urging them to increase base funding levels for public schools, consider proposals that improve both adequacy and equity in school funding, evaluate the impact of proposed changes to the funding formula on all districts, and account for ongoing cost pressures facing school systems.
Raise the Base - A Collaborative for Adequate and Equitable Public School Funding
The District supports efforts to understand and inform the public regarding the issue of adequate and equitable public school funding. It has joined with 30 districts as well as other supporting organizations that are committed to working to raise base grant funding for all students.
