Debbie Dreiling- Robinson Elementary Teacher of the Year
Always perfecting her craft, Ms. Dreiling is a perfect selection for Robinson Elementary Teacher of the Year! Walking into her classroom, students are always engaged and happy under Ms. Dreiling’s charismatic delivery. They love to be greeted each morning with, “How are y’all doing today?” It’s not just her Texas twang that captures their attention though. With a sense of humor that never ends, a wee bit of sarcasm to add, most importantly, she brings each child an extraordinarily genuine humanity with fills their hearts and minds each year with love and confidence that simply can’t be measured. If you ask Debbie, she’ll tell you, “I have the best job in the world. I love it.” Her goal is to make her students’ fifth grade year the best they have ever had in school.
This year, in particular, Robinson fifth grade students have seen exponential academic growth with integrated technology as Ms. Dreiling has incorporated the iPads fluidly into all areas of the fifth grade curriculum. Student use these 1 to 1 devices to create, collaborate, problem solve, and demonstrate their knowledge. She is an amazing team leader who works cooperatively and collaboratively with her fellow teachers. Parents feel confident in the growth of their students and are constantly informed of their progress.
Each year dozens of students return to Ms. Dreiling because she has given them a rock to hold on to, a place to feel safe, and a vessel by which to sail successfully into their future. She treats her students as family, loving them for their unique individuality. Congrats Debbie! The Robinson Elementary School community loves you and is so very proud!
