Leoni Biegert will attend the University of Colorado Boulder this fall, joining the Buffalos’ track and field program. A specialist in long sprints and relays, Leoni is excited to compete within the Big 12 Conference. Off the track, she will pursue a degree in political science with aspirations of attending law school. During her time at Mira Costa, Leoni was a four-year member of the track team while also balancing two seasons each of cross country and soccer. Her high school career is highlighted by breaking the long-standing school record in the 400m and anchoring several league-winning relay teams. Notably, she was a key member of the squad that set a new Mira Costa school record in the 4x100m relay. Leoni secured a Bay League title in the 400m and earned the opportunity to compete at the California State Track and Field Championships as well as the prestigious Oregon Relays. Beyond the high school arena, she was a long-time competitive soccer player, reaching the ECNL/RL National Finals twice with her club team. A consistent Scholar-Athlete and Honor Roll student, Leoni takes as much pride in her academic discipline as her athletic achievements. She thanks her coaches, especially Coach Moe, for their unwavering support and encouragement over the years, and is looking forward to starting her next chapter in Boulder.
