Elementary Report Cards
Based on the California State Standards, research in area school districts, parent feedback, and elementary teacher survey results, MBUSD has adopted new standards aligned elementary report cards for the 2016-2017 school year. The new report cards were approved by the MBUSD Board of Trustees in spring of 2015 and again in 2016.
The standards based report card is helpful in many ways. First, it clarifies and reinforces consistent, high expectations for student learning across the all schools, grades, and teachers. Second, the report card helps teachers, students, and families focus on the standards, learning behaviors, effort and concepts throughout the school year. Finally, and most importantly, the new report card provides more detailed feedback on progress towards meeting standards throughout the school year so students, families, and teachers can work together to set meaningful goals for improvement. Information on which big ideas and concepts each child has learned and what work is still needed for success in the next grade level helps ensure that your child receives additional support, at home and school, when needed.
